UK Games Market Hits £5.4 Billion in 2025
The UK games market reached £5.4bn in 2025, marking a 7.4% increase year-on-year – the strongest growth since 2020, according to the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA).
Quick Breakdown:
>> Mobile gaming led the way, generating £1.88bn and accounting for over a third (35.5%) of total games revenue.
>> Games remain unique in entertainment for being ownership-driven, with 45% of revenue coming from purchases, compared with 16.6% in music and 7.2% in video.
>> Overall UK entertainment spending across games, music, and video reached £13.3bn, showing that games continue to outperform other sectors.
ERA highlights the sector’s resilience, growing 86% since 2016, more than seven times faster than the UK economy.
