State of USA Gaming Market in June 2025
The latest Circana data shows a strong performance in the U.S. gaming market for June 2025, driven largely by the highly anticipated launch of the Nintendo Switch 2.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
➡️ Console sales hit a historic high, reaching $978M (+249% YoY), with 1.6M Nintendo Switch 2 units sold, the best debut month ever for a console in the U.S.
➡️ Accessories revenue reached $293M, a +29% YoY increase - another June record. Nearly 1 in 3 Switch 2 buyers picked up the Pro Controller.
➡️ Video game content sales grew 6% YoY to $4.4B, led by new titles like Death Stranding 2, Mario Kart World, and Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma.
➡️ Non-mobile subscriptions saw a record $562M in revenue (+32% YoY), helped by renewed interest in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
➡️ Despite a strong June, H1 2025 total spending ($25.5B) was down 2% compared to the same period in 2024.
➡️ Mobile leaders included MONOPOLY GO!, Royal Match, and Pokemon GO, the latter boosted by GO Fest.
